چکیده

Large-basis shell model studies of low-lying excitations in light nuclei from He to Li have been performed with a multivalued G-matrix effective interaction, as recently suggested by Haxton et al.. Calculations were performed relative to the vacuum (“no core”) using very large, separable model spaces containing all excitations with unperturbed energies up to 8h̄Ω. Using G matrices derived from a new Nijmegen potential, we achieve a very satisfactory description of these excitations.

M ay 1 99 8 Microscopic model analyses of the elastic scattering of 65 MeV protons from targets of diverse mass

Nonlocal coordinate space optical potentials for the scattering of 65 MeV protons from nuclei ranging in mass from 6 Li to 238 U have been defined by folding a complex, medium dependent effective interaction with the density matrix elements of each target. The effective interaction is based upon solutions of the Lippmann–Schwinger and Brueckner–Bethe–Goldstone equations having the Paris potenti...

p–SHELL NUCLEI AND TWO-FREQUENCY SHELL MODEL WITH A REALISTIC EFFECTIVE INTERACTION

We have studied p-shell nuclei using a two-frequency shell-model approach with an effective interaction derived from the Bonn-A nucleon-nucleon potential by means of a G-matrix folded-diagram method. First, we briefly describe our derivation of the effective interaction in a model space composed of harmonic oscillator wave functions with two different length parameters, bin and bout, for the co...

Test of shell-model interactions for nuclear structure calculations.

Recently no-core shell-model calculations have been performed @1,2#, in which all nucleons are active, so there are no hole states. This approach avoids the use of shell-model effective interactions involving excitations from an inert core of nucleons ~e.g., the core-polarization process!, and thereby avoids the convergence problems of the standard effectiveinteraction approach @3#. In this pap...

Effective interactions for A = 4 1 - 6 6 nuclei

A new two-body interaction is derived for nuclei in a large part of the 0flp shell by fitting two-body matrix elements to 494 energy levels in A = 41-66 nuclei. For the shell-model basis a 4°Ca core and a model space consisting of 0~/2 ( lp3/20fs/2 lpl/2)m + 0~7~1 ( lp3/20f5/2 lpl/2) l+ra configurations was assumed. By varying 40 linear combinations of matrix elements and fixing those that are ...

Gamow shell model and realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions

We present a new and efficient method to obtain a Gamow shell-model basis and matrix elements generated by realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions. We derive a self-consistent Hartree-Fock potential from the renormalized NLO interaction model. The corresponding Gamow one-body eigenstates are generated in a plane wave basis in order to build a Gamow shell-model set of basis states for the closed ...
